Administrators need to monitor the secrets managed by the vault and all the identities that have access to those secrets. Secrets governance allows administrators to monitor security incidents and risk factors.
To access the secrets governance:
- Login to Britive.
- Click on Admin->Secrets Manager->Britive Vault Governance. The page also displays the total number of secrets and the total number of identities accessing those secrets.
- Click on the Secrets tab to view the list of all secrets from the vault. The list displays the following:
- Secret name
- Description
- Path where this secret is stored in the vault, always starts with a root (/)
- Last Rotated
- Assigned Identities: Click on the View Assigned Identities icon from the Assigned Identities column to view all the identities assigned to this particular secret.
- Click on the Identities tab to view the list of all identities associated with various secrets from the vault. The list displays the following:
- Identity name
- Type
- First Name
- Last Name
- Assigned Secrets: Click on the View Assigned Secrets icon from the Assigned Secrets column to view all the secrets associated with this particular identity.
Britive Secrets governance also provides the following predefined reports for auditing purposes:
- Secret Last Access
- Secret Last Rotation
- User Secret Access
- User Secret Last Access
To access these reports:
- Login to Britive.
- Click on Admin-> Reports.
- Click Generate Report or Export Report from the Actions column to generate a particular report. The Export Report option exports the report in CSV format.
