Tenant Branding and Themes

Tenant administrators can customize the look of the Britive portal to match their organization's brand. This includes replacing Britive's logo, favicon, and sign-in page elements and defining up to two custom color themes that end users can choose from.

Tenant branding

The following brand assets can be customized:

• Logo: Logo from the top bar and on the sign-in screens.

• Favicon: A favicon that is displayed in the browser tab and bookmarks.

• Brand text: Brand text (up to 50 characters) replaces the default "Welcome to Britive" heading on the sign-in form. It appears on the primary login screen only. The other authentication screens, such as SSO, password reset, password change, and MFA, keep their own titles.

• Sign-in page side panel: The right-hand panel on the sign-in page.

To customize the Britive portal:

1. Log in to Britive as an administrator.

2. Click on System admin->Global Settings->General Settings.

3. Click on Tenant Branding and click Edit for customization.

4. Upload a light or dark logo. A logo with a transparent background works best, since it has to sit on both a light and a dark top bar. You can also upload a dark logo (optional), which is used automatically whenever a dark theme is active. A dark logo requires a light logo to already be set; the light logo is the base, and the dark logo is only an override for dark appearances. Removing the light logo also removes the dark logo.

5. Update the brand text.

6. Upload an image for the right side panel.

7. Upload favicon.

   Note:

   Some browsers keep the previous icon on tabs that were already open; a newly opened tab will always show the current one.

8. Enable Hide Britive’s built-in themes from users so that only custom themes are displayed under the theme picker. This option is available only when at least one custom theme is created.

9. Click Save to store your changes as a draft; at this point, nothing changes for your end users.

10. Click Apply to publish the draft to the live version that end users actually see.

You can make and save changes over multiple sessions without affecting anyone and only publish when all changes are done. The Apply button is disabled whenever the draft already matches what's live; it re-enables automatically the next time you save a change.

Accepted files and sizes

Custom Themes

A custom theme lets you define your organization's own color palette for the portal as an alternative to Britive's built-in light and dark themes. Tenants can define up to two custom themes.

Each theme is set to either a light or dark appearance, which determines how it behaves alongside Britive's built-in themes and the system default option. Themes can be edited or deleted at any time, and a live preview is available before you commit to a color.

Each theme sets six core colors: background, text, top bar, main navigation, sub-navigation, and page header. For example, navigation text automatically switches between black and white as needed to stay readable against your chosen navigation color.

Creating and managing themes

1. Log in to Britive as an administrator.

2. Click on System admin->Global Settings->General Settings.

3. Click on Tenant Branding and click Edit for customization.

4. Enter the following in the Edit theme window:

   1. Enter the name of the theme.

   2. Enable Set as default theme to mark this theme as a default. Only one theme can be the default at a time. Setting a default theme only affects users who have not already picked a theme for themselves. If a user has previously chosen a theme from the top-bar switcher, that personal choice continues to take priority over any tenant default.

   3. Select the appearance as Light or Dark.

   4. Select the colors for Background, Text, Top Bar, Main Nav, Sub-Nav, and Page Header.

   5. Click Save.

5. Enable Set as default theme to mark this theme as a default.

6. Click Preview to view how the theme colors look on the Britive portal.

7. Click Publish to publish this custom theme to the live version.
