Britive now extends the MFA for user authentication. Users can now register and log in using MFA.
Logging for First-time Users
The administrator has created a user with initial credentials (username/password) and has already configured allowed MFA settings.
Log into the Britive portal using the initial credentials.
Change the password after successful login.
To register for MFA:
If OTP is allowed: Register for OTP using an authenticator app, SMS, or email (one-step process).
If WebAuthn is allowed:
Register WebAuthn device (For example: Biometric device, security key).
Authenticate using the registered WebAuthn device.
If both OTP and WebAuthn are allowed, choose to register using either or both methods.
Authenticate and access the application: Grant access to the authentication application after completing MFA registration and authentication.
Logging for Existing Users
Existing users' login requires the user's registered credentials (passkeys) for authentication depending on the already registered options OTP or WebAuthn.
Log into the Britive portal.
Authenticate with OTP or WebAuthn:
If registered only for OTP: Authenticate via OTP (e.g., using an authenticator app, SMS, or email).
If registered only for WebAuthn: Authenticate using the WebAuthn device.
If both are registered: Choose a preferred method during login.
Access the Application: Grant access to the application after successful authentication.
