Session Recording

Note:

The Session Recording feature is enabled only on request. Please reach out to your customer success point of contact to enable this.

Britive Session Recording uses Britive Access Broker to create proxied, short-lived user sessions into servers and allows for video recording of those sessions. Session recording supports SSH and RDP connections. End users do not need to install any special tools or copy credentials, as the credential rotation is handled entirely by Britive Access Broker. The session client requires nothing more than a modern web browser.

The session recording components are packaged together with the Britive broker under a single Docker deployment. An administrator needs to follow these steps to configure session recording:

  1. Copy the session recording directory to the desired server or virtual machine.

  2. Update the broker-config.yml with the desired tenant subdomain and the token for the broker bootstrap.

  3. Generate a JSON secret key and update the docker-compose.yml file with the generated key.

  4. Run the Docker build process.

  5. Run Docker Compose to stand up the services.

The broker service starts automatically, and an instance of the broker appears on the Britive admin portal.

User Access

  1. Select a profile to check out from the My Resources menu option.

  2. Click the Console icon to access the checked-out permissions. Session recording starts automatically.

  3. Check in access after completing the required action from the My Resources menu option.
