Britive supports API-token-based authentication for the Jira Service Management integration. For successful validation, at least one issue must be present on the Jira instance.
Britive needs the following things for creating the ITSM connection:
- Instance URL
- Username
- ApiToken
Steps to be followed on the Jira instance:
Create a User Account
- Create a service account using the steps mentioned in the Create users manually in Jira section.
- Ensure the new user has a User role and jira-users-<instance_name> group. If it is not already assigned, assign the role and group using the steps from Assign users to groups from Jira documentation.
- For Jira projects with restrictive access, permission Browse Projects must be granted to the service account or user. For more information about project permissions in Jira, see Managing Project Permissions.
Create an API key
Log in to the Jira instance using the newly created user account and create an API token using Create an API token in Jira documentation.
