# Tenancy ID for Oracle Cloud Client

Tenants represent business aliases for organizations, companies, or divisions such as departments, groups, or teams.

A Tenancy ID (tenant identifier) is a unique identifier for the tenant.

Perform the following steps to get the Tenancy ID for your Oracle cloud tenant:

1. Login to Oracle cloud console with administrator privileges.
2. Click **Identity & Security** from the navigation menu.
3. Select **Compartments** from the **Identity** section**.**
4. Click the root compartment name of the tenancy.
5. Select **Show** inline to the **OCID** field. The OCID for the root compartment is displayed.
6. Copy the **OCID** and save it in a file, as this ID is required for onboarding the Oracle Cloud application to Britive.
