# Group Sync with SCIM

SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) is an open standard for automating the exchange of user identity and group membership data between identity providers (IdPs) like Okta or Microsoft Entra ID and service providers like Britive.

Group Sync with SCIM allows:

- Automatic provisioning and de-provisioning of groups and users
- Real-time updates when users are added or removed from groups
- Centralized identity lifecycle management

## How SCIM Group Sync Is Used in Britive

Britive is a cloud-native privilege access management (PAM) platform that supports SCIM-based integrations to:

- Automatically provision users and groups from IdPs
- Keep user group memberships in sync across identity providers and Britive roles
- Dynamically assign permissions based on group membership

SCIM in Britive enables:

- Group-based role assignments (via Britive profiles/policies)
- Minimal manual admin tasks
- Real-time enforcement of access policies
