# General Settings

Administrators need to communicate important information/announcements to users. Examples include planned maintenance activity or other messages related to Britive services. Administrators can configure a custom system announcement message displayed as a banner and for a certain period for users.

Administrators can configure a default landing page from general settings for this tenant. Users are redirected to this selected landing page after logging in.

1. Log in to Britive as an administrator.
2. Click on **System admin**->**Global Settings**->**General Settings**.
3. **System Announcement:**
  1. To configure a system announcement, click **Edit** from the **System Announcement** section.
  2. Turn **Display System Announcement** ON.
  3. Select the **Message Type** from Info/Warning/Caution.
  4. Type the message.
  5. Select **Start and End Date/Time** if the message needs to be displayed for a specified time.
  6. Click **Save**.
  7. The message is displayed as a banner after refreshing the page, post-login, or after a 10-minute polling period. If the message has been read/displayed already, it can be accessed through the Announcement icon from the top right side of the page.
4. **Landing Page:**
  1. To select a default landing page, click **Edit** from the **Landing Page** section.
  2. Select the default landing page.
  3. Click **Save**.
